  12. In the process of evaluating possible connections between two IBM RS/6000
  13. machines over telecommunications lines, I  would like to have some answers
  14. on the following questions concerning the Point to Point protocol between
  15. routers (PPP)
  16. 1- IBM does not support PPP on the RS/6000 AIX system today. Is there
  17. anywhere a PPP version which runs without problems on an IBM RS/6000 over
  18. the serial interface?
  19. 2- PPP is an alternative for a point-to-point SLIP connection between two
  20. RS/6000 machines.
  21. I would like to know what relative performance the two mentioned have on a
  22. noncompresses (modems) 14k4 V32-bis analoge telecommunication line. Does
  23. PPP have also a minimum packet length (overhead), and so on, and so on
