- We are running over 100 Pc's networked using PC-NFS 4.0a. I would like to
- be able to set a USER and HOSTNAME environment variable to the correct username
- and hostname of the PC.
-
- The information is available by the NET NAME command but I do not know how to
- extract the usename and hostname from the NET NAME output and then set the
- apporiate environment labels.
-
- I am planning to use SABER LAA to provide some license management and this
- product requires a environment variable set to the username and one for the
- hostname. This would also be useful for other network packages such as mail
- which also requires a username.
-
- Has anyone done this already or does anybody have any sugestions on the how to
- do this?
-
- Do any other PC-NFS users think this would ba a good feature for future PC-NFS
- releases?
-
- Thanks in advance
-
- Fe Ashburner.
