  13. It is an interesting part of the hnistory of X.400 that a defect
  14. report sometime around 1989 was adopted which in fact made the support
  15. of DDAs manadatory in the base stanadards.  This has been slow to
  16. percolate to products.  I am not sure whether all the rgional
  17. workshops have included this as manadatory by now or not.  this is an
  18. interesting question.

  20. But, it is now clear in the base standards that the DDA is mandatory.

  22. UNISYS has historically (hysterically?) taken the position that the
  23. DDA is not required ansd should not be supported, apparently in the
  24. interests of improved interworking.

  26. UNISYS customers should gang up on them and get it fixed.
