- We have the Columbia Appletalk Package version of LPR running on in a
- disconnected VM machine on a VM/ESA system. It is serving numerous postscript
- print requests from a CADAM system which is networked to VM/ESA via RSCS.
- A CADAM program has been set up for the users to submit these jobs to CMS,
- where the hot reader wakes up, stores the file and issues the LPR command.
- The LPR module is sending the postscript files, which are huge, to a Sun
- workstation connected via TCP/IP. The CADAM users are overjoyed. They can
- get their drawings (albeit on 8.5x11 output) in minutes, instead of waiting
- overnight for courier service. Hence, the usage of this facility is booming.
-
- However....we get the following abend way too often (30-40% of the time)
-
- Trace follows

- I notified IBM Pascal support, and obviously they could do nothing w/out
- the source code. To our knowledge, Columbia doesn't give out any source
- w/ their "Share-ware". I am in the process of contacting someone at
- Columbia, but in the meantime I thought I would post this and possibly
- get lucky in case someone knows about it.
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated....or direct me to the right newsgroup
- for this....
