  11. We have the Columbia Appletalk Package version of LPR running on in a
  12. disconnected VM machine on a VM/ESA system.  It is serving numerous postscript
  13. print requests from a CADAM system which is networked to VM/ESA via RSCS.
  14. A CADAM program has been set up for the users to submit these jobs to CMS,
  15. where the hot reader wakes up, stores the file and issues the LPR command.
  16. The LPR module is sending the postscript files, which are huge, to a Sun
  17. workstation connected via TCP/IP.  The CADAM users are overjoyed.  They can
  18. get their drawings (albeit on 8.5x11 output) in minutes, instead of waiting
  19. overnight for courier service.  Hence, the usage of this facility is booming.

  21. However....we get the following abend way too often (30-40% of the time)

  48. I notified IBM Pascal support, and obviously they could do nothing w/out
  49. the source code.  To our knowledge, Columbia doesn't give out any source
  50. w/ their "Share-ware".  I am in the process of contacting someone at
  51. Columbia, but in the meantime I thought I would post this and possibly
  52. get lucky in case someone knows about it.
