- You should be able to do this. First define another LU on VTAM, and give
- it a DLOGMODE for the SNA Character Set (SCS) printer. Then go into your CM
- configuration, and into the 3270 sessions area and set a printer up to the LU
- number that you gave it in VTAM. If you have VM/CMS you will then need to add
- a printer in RSCS, and point it to the LU you defined in VTAM. You will also
- want to add the parameter TRANS=ASSIC on the PARM line of the RSCS configuratio
- n so that RSCS does not throw away certain characters.
- If you have MVS, I am not sure of host details, as there is no RSCS in MVS. Yo
- ur host people should be able to help you with this.
- Once yo have your CM configured for the LU and you have VTAM and RSCS setup, yo
- u should be able to print from the host to the printer (host directed print).
- We use it quite succesfully, and have also been able to use this setup to print
- CMS SAS/GRAPH's from the host onto the printer - very impressive to get graphi
- cs output on an EBCDIC machine and have it print out on an ASCII printer.
- Repost or Email if you have more questions
- Good luck
