  19. I have the same printer as you, and my advice to you is run, don't walk,
  20. and get the new HP drivers from FTP-OS2 / Watson / Whatever.  There is
  21. one for OS2 and one for WINOS2.  Both are well worth the time and effort
  22. to get them.  The speed increase in WINOS2 is especially significant.

  24. I don't do much printing from OS2, as I have no real OS2 applications yet,
  25. so I can't comment much on the output quality of the OS2 drivers.  However,
  26. I have printed quite a few pages of help files and they come out looking
  27. very sharp, although bitmaps and images do not appear in the printouts,
  28. only the text.  The quality of output in WINOS2 is excellent.  Now I just
  29. have to find some good-looking ATM fonts to replace the broken ones that
  30. are shipped with WINOS2.

  32. Also, I grabbed an OS2 HP printing utility on c.o.o.b yesterday and it is
  33. a marvel.  It prints textfiles in landscape mode with an option of
  34. shading every other line, which looks _GREAT_ for program listings.
