- I thank everyone for considering me to be an "expert," but,
- unfortunately, I have to issue this "warning."
-
- If you are experiencing a problem with OS/2 2.0, please post to the
- appropriate Usenet newsgroup. You are much better off getting a
- timely answer by posting. I've been inundated with personal mail
- requesting OS/2 help, and, while I've tried to keep up, it is growing
- increasingly difficult. So I plea for a bit of relief, and I would
- appreciate it if you would stick to the Usenet newsgroups for
- assistance if at all possible.
-
- I do post replies to a great number of posts to comp.os.os2.*, but
- even there I won't be able to keep up with everything. If you don't
- get a satisfactory answer in the newsgroup, then try alternative
- avenues (like contacting IBM directly, checking with a local BBS,
- checking information files already available on ftp-os2.nmsu.edu,
- posting to CompuServe) or reposting, perhaps rephrasing the question
- and/or making it more concise.
-
- One useful tactic is to "lurk" for a while in the OS/2 newsgroups if
- you are new. Some questions get asked repeatedly (despite efforts to
- encourage people to read the FAQ List), and you may just see your
- question answered if you read through new messages over a week or two.
-
- Also, please pick only one OS/2 newsgroup when you post. Avoid
- crossposting whenever possible.
-
- With everyone's help we (the OS/2 community) will be able to get more
- questions answered in a timely fashion. Thanks in advance for that
- help.
