  15. Well I need help. I've been trying to get communications programs to
  16. run under OS/2 2.0. The program that comes with OS/2 works and pmfterm
  17. works. My dos and Windows programs work, but te2, pmkermit, pmqvt do not
  18. work. They don't allow me to even send commands to the modem. My cs and
  19. mr lights are usually off when running the programs that don't work.

  21. What I've tried:
  22.  I've used the mode command to turn them on and then I can send commands 
  23. and dial but can not connect. I've also put these programs after the iopl
  24. in config.sys. I was reading some news here that talked about the file
  25. sasyncda.sys that OS/2 programs use. I don't have this file and could not
  26. find it on the OS/2 disks. I also tried to use selective install to install
  27. serial support but this didn't do any good but lock my system up till I 
  28. rebooted. I've also tried the supposedly new commga drivers, but this did
  29. not fix anything and seemed to cause some problems so dinstalled them. I
  30. also tried the new kernal but got rid of it too. I'm using a stock
  31. installation of OS/2 right now with it's screen drivers for 640x480 16.
  32. When I installed OS/2 last I installed every thing but the terminal program
  33. and CDROM support.

  35. I can get by with using pmfterm or my dos and windows programs, but it bothers
  36. me that the others do not work. I'd like to get pmqvt or te2 to work so
  37. I can try out their zmodem transfers, so any help would be greatly 
  38. appreciated. Below is my hardware configuration:

  40. 386sx 16 mhz - AMI bios - 4 meg of ram - WD IDE hard drive controller with
  41. floppy, 2 serial, 1 par, and 1 game port, WD 120 meg drive,
  42. Trident 8900C VGA - 1 meg brd, Microtek scanner card.

  44. Com1 is hooked to a US Robotics Courier HST Dual Standard, also tested was
  45. a Viva 2442ef 2400 baud modem.
  46. Com2 is used for a Beetle Mouse.
