- Hi all,
-
- I'm looking for advice as to the best scheme of partitioning and
- formatting to install OS/2 2.0 and DOS 5.
-
- I plan on using the boot manager so that I can take advantage of the
- HPFS. The install manual seems to suggest a 4 meg partition for DOS,
- and then the rest of the HD as a logical drive, formatted for
- HPFS.
-
- But wait a minute. The purpose of installing a separate version of DOS
- is to be able to run certain programs that won't run in an OS/2 DOS
- session (like the game Ultima 7), right? But if all my software is
- installed in the HPFS logical drive, then the separate DOS installation
- won't even see it, right?
-
- In short, what does the manual REALLY want me to do? I'll be using a
- 240 meg HD. What do you think would be the best way to set it up, and
- how big should I make each partition?
-
- (Yes I'm somewhat of a novice and pretty clueless :) But, I've read the
- FAQ and examined a few of the commercial OS/2 books and tried a couple
- different trial installations before posting this. No flames, please.)
-
- Thanks for your help, Netters!
