- I have a peculiar problem with NCSA Telnet, my 1.44Mb floppy drives and OS/2
- 2.0.
-
- I start up NCSA Telnet in a full screen DOS session and let it run. After
- NCSA Telnet has been running for an hour or so, I cannot copy any files larger
- than about 200Kb to either of my 1.44Mb floppy drives. OS/2 copies ~190Kb to
- the drive and then responds with "SYS0049: Drive a: (or b:) not functioning".
- If I switch to the DOS session and exit Telnet, the drives work flawlessly. I
- can then start up Telnet again, and the drives will work for a while and then
- the problem recurrs. When I get the SYS0049 error while trying to copy large
- files, I am still able to copy large numbers of small files (ie. 100 4Kb
- files) without any drive errors. I do not have any floppy errors when I
- dual-boot to MS-DOS 4.01. This problem occurs whether I copy from OS/2 command
- prompts, DOS command prompts, or use icons to copy files.
-
- I have been working with IBM on this one, but we have not been able to solve
- the problem. We have tried switching to the IBMINT13 driver, but that did not
- work. I was wondering if anyone else has run into such behavior.
-
- My computer is a Zenith 386/20 6Mb memory, Zenith/DTC 6280z ESDI/floppy
- controller, 76Mb and 150Mb hard drives, 15Mb free on the swapper file drive,
- Sony 1.44MB floppy drives.
-
- Thanks.
