- Does anybody have disk with more than 1024 cylinders (without mapping
- software) running with OS/2 without problems? The Red Book from IBM
- suggests that disks with >1204 cylinders are ok, but space over
- that limit should be used in HPFS partitions only. I reformatted my 660
- Mbyte ESDI disk from FAT (disk mapped to 1024 cylinders, only 528 Mbytes
- usable) to 660 Mbyte mixed FAT/HPFS. Now, various files become corrupted
- randomly. When accessing these files, the system freezes. I am uncertain
- whether the problems are due to HPFS, >1024 cylinders, ESDI disk, or what
- something else.
