  13. Hello netters,

  16.     Ok, ok, ok.  Could someone out there please help me get this 
  17. video situation straightened out?  I'm trying to get out of 
  18. 640x480x16 color default mode.  I have a Tseng ET4000 based
  19. card (generic brand).   Here's what I did;

  21. Downloaded kernel patch from ftp-os2.
  22. Downloaded new orchid drivers from ftp-os2.
  23. Applied new kernel to system.
  24. Replaced the old video drivers and things as per instructions in
  25. orchid readme.1st file.
  26. Copied 800x256.dll over display.dll in \os2\mdos .
  27. Made necessary changes in config.sys.
  28. SVGA on

  30. All this went fine.  Now, however, my system will barely stay 
  31. up for 30 seconds.  Less if I open an OS/2 command line.  
  32. I realize that these drivers are betas and not specifically for my 
  33. board, but this is ridiculous.  I don't think it is a video sync 
  34. problem because the picture is fine, the system simply crashes 
  35. continuously.  Am I missing a new patch or something?  Is this a
  36. late April fools day joke? Help!

  38. Does anyone have any ideas, experiences, etc, that would be helpful?
