- Hello netters,
-
-
- Ok, ok, ok. Could someone out there please help me get this
- video situation straightened out? I'm trying to get out of
- 640x480x16 color default mode. I have a Tseng ET4000 based
- card (generic brand). Here's what I did;
-
- Downloaded kernel patch from ftp-os2.
- Downloaded new orchid drivers from ftp-os2.
- Applied new kernel to system.
- Replaced the old video drivers and things as per instructions in
- orchid readme.1st file.
- Copied 800x256.dll over display.dll in \os2\mdos .
- Made necessary changes in config.sys.
- SVGA on
-
- All this went fine. Now, however, my system will barely stay
- up for 30 seconds. Less if I open an OS/2 command line.
- I realize that these drivers are betas and not specifically for my
- board, but this is ridiculous. I don't think it is a video sync
- problem because the picture is fine, the system simply crashes
- continuously. Am I missing a new patch or something? Is this a
- late April fools day joke? Help!
-
- Does anyone have any ideas, experiences, etc, that would be helpful?
- ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
