- I need help with a problem I had installing OS/2 2.0. The system is a
- Gateway2000 486DX-2 50 EISA with an Adaptec 1742 SCSI controller. The
- hard disk is a 340MB Maxtor. Using OS/2's Fdisk program, I set up the
- hard disk as follows (after deleting the original partition):
- boot manager at the beginning of the physical drive;
- primary partition (50MB) for MS-DOS 5.0 on C:
- 70MB logical drive D: for OS/2 (which is the default OS at boot time)
- 200+MB logical drive E: for programs and data.
- I chose HPFS for drive D: when I installed OS/2 and after the installation
- I formatted drive D: as HPFS and C: as FAT.
- The OS/2 install seemed fine. Printer works and I did a couple of shutdowns
- and reboots and all seemed ok. Next, I installed MS-DOS 5.0 (provided by
- Gateway) and again, the install seemed to go fine. However, when I rebooted
- the system the boot manager did not give me the choice of which OS I wanted
- to boot; MS-DOS loaded automatically. I certainly hope I don't have to
- install OS/2 again :-( . Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
