- I have a few questions.
-
-
- 1) I seem to get filenames with semicolons and numbers appended to them. For
- example, if I d/l a file into my download directory with filename foo.zip
- then MOVE it (at both DOS and OS/2 command prompts) to another directory
- for storage, I get some other copies of this file, of 0 byte size, with
- names like foo.zip;1 foo.zip;2 foo.zip;3 etc clutterring up that directory.
- Note that these copies are 0 bytes in length, most have correct dates
- but some have dates of 1985(?). I cannot delete these files directly,
- ie. del foo.zip;1 but must use wildcards. I can only see these files
- in an OS/2 session, of course. What are these files and why are they
- generated? How can I prevent it?
-
-
- 2) If I have 2 Full Screen sessions going, one OS/2 (TE/2) and one DOS (VPIC)
- there seem to be video problems when I switch between them. Here's the
- process. Start up TE/2 download, switch away and open up a full screen
- DOS session, run VPIC, display image, then switch back to TE/2. When
- I switch back, the screen has gone bonkers and is filled with multicolour
- blocks. If I switch back to TE/2 when I'm only in the VPIC character
- based menu, it's no problem. What's going on here? Not enough video
- memory? I have an ATI Graphics Ultra with 1 MEG (VSVGA enabled).
-
-
- 3) If I open an OS/2 Full screen session right after boot up, my monitor goes
- into some interlaced mode which is quite undesirable. BUT if I first
- open a DOS full screen session (and it goes into the proper NI mode) then
- re-open an OS/2 Full screen session it goes into the correct mode. The
- DOS FS session works right all the time, no matter when I open it, but the
- OS/2 FS session doesn't work until I "initialize" it with a DOS FS session.
- I believe my card has been set up correctly in all modes using the INSTALL
- program supplied.

-
- Thanks for your replies.
