- I've successfully defragmented FAT volumes on several occasions and never
- had a problem (but one should always do a backup before anyway!). I un-hid
- all the hidden files (os/2 boot, kernel, etc on the boot drive; extended
- attributes files; wp share files, etc), and ran Norton Utils' unfragmenter
- with no apparent ill effects after a few weeks.
