  20. The recently announced upgrade is version 3.0.  It is still a character-mode
  21. application.  The DOS and OS/2 versions are virtually identical in appearance
  22. and operation, though under the hood they must be quite different.  For
  23. example, the OS/2 version is multithreaded; the DOS version obviously can't
  24. be.  I understand this new version still does not support long filenames (a
  25. shame).  [For those of you who have been struggling with making DOS
  26. communications program work under OS/2 2.0, I can only say that a native
  27. OS/2 communications program really makes life much easier, though I can
  28. understand a user's preference for sticking with a familiar program that
  29. satisfies their needs.]

  31. The 32-bit PM application that Hilgraeve is currently working on is expected
  32. to ship before the end of the year.  I do not know what policy Hilgraeve has,
  33. if any, with regard to upgrades from version 3.0 to the 32-bit PM version.
  34. I for one do not plan to upgrade twice in the span of four months.
