  13. From the frequently asked questions it says that if I have a disk over
  14. 1024 cylinders (I do) and I use third party software (dmdrvr.sys) I do
  15. and I use SMARTDRV (I do), I can have problems using Windows.

  17. It does not say what the problems are.  I called Optiquest regarding
  18. Disk Manager, and they tell me I need to upgrade to their version 5.1
  19. to allow it to work with Windows 3.1.  However, they did not tell me
  20. if it would work with SMARTDRV.  I am using 5.0 right now with
  21. SMARTDRV and Windows 3.1 and it works fine (near as I can tell), but
  22. Windows will not let me create a permanent swap file.  I am told by
  23. Optiquest that it works fine if I purchase the 5.1 upgrade.

  25. By the way, I have a 760M ESDI drive.

  29.    1.  Should I be using another caching program other than SMARTDRV
  30.        and what ones are most recommended for successful use with
  31.        Windows?

  33.    2.  Is it safe to use Optiquest's Disk Manager program with Windows
  34.        3.1 and permanent swap files?  Anyone doing it?

  36.    3.  Unrelated question... I had heard of a package called WinSpeed
  37.        that really speeds up windows.  Does it also speed up Windows
  38.        3.1 or was it obsoleted by Windows 3.1?
