- I've been running MINIX-ST and following comp.os.minix for a year or two
- now, and I've noticed that it's been a looooooooong time since anyone
- bothered to update the information about FTP sites in the periodic
- "Minix Information Sheet" posting.
-
- Recently I ftp'd to ftp.uni-koeln.de (since I never could connect to
- ftp.thp.uni-koeln.de) and I noticed that that site was set up to display
- a message telling people from the US and Canada to use different sites.
- The message said that all the files in this archive are from other
- archives, and they are limited in their bandwith, so they would prefer
- that people use archive sites closer to them.
-
- I understand all this, but I still find that ftp.uni-koeln.de has a lot
- of stuff that I can't find elsewhere. So what I'd like to know is: what
- archive sites do all of you (in US and Canada) use to get Minix
- software? I've tried a few listed in the information sheet, but found
- most of them pretty useless. Also, who is it that updates the "Minix
- Information Sheet"? Most of the ftp sites listed say things like "Last
- checked: 910115", i.e., more than 1.5 years ago!! Could this possibly
- be updated?
