  13. I tried out the minix demo disk and at some point unmounted the floppy
  14. that had all the commands in it. So I could not issue any commands.
  15. So I rebooted with control-alt-delete. Then I tried to use PCPLUS to 
  16. log into a mainframe and noticed that my keystrokes were not echoing
  17. to the screen. I had to do a hard reboot by turning the machine off
  18. and then it went away.

  20. Later I tried to read a dvi file in MSDOS using dvivga and found that
  21. it would not obey the arrow keys, the pagedn and pageup keys, etc.
  22. In some cases, the machine hung when I tried to exit dvivga.

  24. I don't know if this is related to having screwed up with minix or not.

  26. I had this problem with the previewer before, when I installed ansi.sys
  27. in order to be able to use demacs. It turned out that ansi.sys was
  28. incompatible with dvivga. But then I found that I had a file named
  29. tansi.sys (Trident ANSI.SYS) and if I used that instead, I could use
  30. demacs as well as dvivga. So I don't understand why the problem  is
  31. recurring.

  33. Has anyone else ever had after effects like this? I would like to rule this
  34. out as a source of the problem.
