  13. 1) I read FAQ, FAQ.serial, and RELNOTE.97 and could not
  14. find out how do you create busmouse device (major,
  15. minor). I understand it is probably created by .97 root
  16. disk but do I have to download 1.2 M to learn how to do it ? ;)
  17. 2) I using MicrosoftBusmouse patch. Would above be what am I
  18. suppose to do (ie: is /dev/mouse refering to busmouse
  19. device?

  21. 3) To all X users. I've become one of them (finaly) - big
  22. thanx to Rick Faith for his driver.
  23. Now I've been playing with Xconfig and I thing I
  24. undestand video.tutorial quite well. I can create any
  25. setting and it works almost always. Problem is that my
  26. monitor only sysncs at 31.5 35.2 and 35.5 kHz
  27. (Magnavox-Philips 7CM321) and is interlaced. To get
  28. better resolotions I have to use interlaccedness.
  29. (spelling !) If I follow calculations to
  30. create something around 1024x768 normally I get ~40Hz
  31. refresh. Obvious from calculations I get screen flickers like
  32. crazy. Now I need interlacdness. If I put 'interlace' in
  33. flag field screen starts to flicker even more crazely!
  34. So I thought (knowing nothing about interlacedness but
  35. its dictionary meaning) I need to cut vertical timings by
  36. half. Yeah, I got realy nice picture, but X thinks I only
  37. have half the screen. It starts panning if I move my
  38. cursor below half screen. Now picture is really nice seems
  39. to be right resol'n and good refresh rate. If I drag a
  40. window down its bottom part starts to disappar below 'bout two thirds
  41. of the screen util my mouse hits half the screen when the
  42. panning kicks in.

  46. think I get it at home - and unix. Times change. Fast!)
