- Has anyone successfully installed SLS on an Adaptec 1542 SCSI system?
- I have one, and since I've had my system for awhile now and files are all
- over the place, I thought I'd try an SLS installation and see how it came
- out.
-
- I'd like to keep my existing partitions and just write over them,
- since the rest of the disk has an SCO Unix volume that's a royal pain to
- backup and restore.
-
- Well, the boot disk comes up, and sees the controller and both disks,
- but when I try to mount /dev/sdb5 with -t ext, I get read errors and it
- dies.
-
- I should say that my setup is all-extended filesystems on an extended
- partition, but I thought that 0.96c worked with that.
-
- If nothing else, I've been trying to figure out how SLS does that
- boot-time ramdisk load from the boot disk so I can use my own 0.97pl2 kernel.
- Peter, since I can't seem to mail you, any chance I can get some info?
- I looked at the kernel source included in the dist and didn't see anything
- related to the RamImage file it came with.
-
- adTHANKSvance for any help anyone can offer.
