  13. I have a system with 386DX/25, 8Mb RAM, IDE disk, AHA1542B and Fujitsu 
  14. SCSI disk, Linux 0.97-pl1.5.).
  15. On my IDE driver I have one primary partition for dos, one small
  16. primary partition for Linux root, and one extended partition all for
  17. OS/2.  On the SCSI disk I have three primary partitions for Linux,
  18. (two for data, one for swap) and one big extended partition divided
  19. two logical partitions, one for DOS and one for OS/2.

  21. My problem is this. When I boot Linux from floppy, everything is OK.
  22. In the boot up message, it stated that the primary and all the logical
  23. partitions are recongnized.

  25. However, if I boot the same image from hard disk, (shoelace installed)
  26. at boot up, it stated that the primary partitions are OK, the logical
  27. partition on IDE is recongnized, but for the SCSI disk, the primary
  28. partitions are recongnized , the logical partitions on the extended
  29. partitions are NOT recongnized, it gives error messages 'cann't read
  30. partition table on device 804' or something like that. Then I cann't 
  31. access the extended partition on SCSI disk.  
  32. Note that when I boot from floppy everything is fine, I CAN access 
  33. the extended partition on the SCSI disk just fine.

  35. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

  42. SCSI, X11, GCC channel two days ago, except the machine replied
  43. messages, I have not received anything yet.
