- this holds if elm is compiled with EMX/GCC

- ??? just a thought ... have you got \'s or /'s in the
- path name for the sig files ... try both to see if
- either works. i think elm probably generates a prototype
- message file itself ... in which case you need /'s as
- the file is read inside EMX code which uses UNIX-like
- filenames.
