  12. Hi.  I have a quick question.  I run a BBS with Maximus 2.01 and I have a 
  13. new SupraFAXModem... (By the way:  IT WORKS GREAT!!!)... with one small
  14. exception.

  16.         When people log on at 2400 baud, which most do, the BBS thinks that
  17. they're logged on at 38400.  I can only assume that this is the modem to
  18. computer speed.  I have tried several times to use the W2 option but when
  19. someone connects at 2400 all they get on their end is a screen full of ascii
  20. characters (most of which are Greek Alpha's apparently).  Can anyone suggest
  21. a course of action for me to take?  I wouldn't worry about it at all except
  22. that the BBS allows users to download huge files which they don't have time
  23. left to download because it thinks they're logged on at 38.4k.

  25.         My init string is:  AT&F2E0M0V1S0=0

  27. BTW:  For the person who will, inevitably, say "Why don't you just store
  28. that in the modem using the AT&Wn command?"... I tried it... It won't work
  29. at all... even if I use the EXACT same init string as above, the same result
  30. (GARBAGE!) follows.

  32.         However, I would like to say that my modem has worked FLAWLESSLY.
  33. I admit that I am not exactly a heavy duty user, but I have called my share
  34. of LD sites with high speed modems and have had no problems what-so-ever.
  35. This is a GOOD modem.  If you're in the market... buy it!
