  17. There ARE NO PRE-RELEASE SPECS.  The current level of consensus in 
  18. the committee is quite small; we can just barely agree on the data 
  19. rates, much less symbol rates, modulation schemes, startup 
  20. procedures, secondary channel implementations, etc. etc. etc.  There 
  21. is another meeting at the end of this month in Bath, England, at 
  22. which we hope to make some progress, but the fact remains that 
  23. V.fast is still quite undefined.  Anything you see on the market 
  24. today claiming to be "V.fast" is really just another proprietary 
  25. high-speed modulation scheme, since there isn't even the beginning 
  26. of a standard yet (just a lot of proposals on the table).
