  20. My scout+, when set for 14.4kb, has successfully connected at 12Kb,
  21. 9600 and 2400 without any problems.  The latter two were to modems for
  22. which those were the maximum DCE connect speeds, respectively.

  24. If you don't get some mail that solves your problem, how about posting
  25. your modem defaults?  You can list them with the *O command
  26. which also shows the current DCE and DTE speeds.  Do this before dialing
  27. and after you've connected (if you haven't done this already).  The 
  28. second one should show the lower DCE speed.
