- In response to the question actually *asked in the subject line* (folks,
- if you are gonna go off on a tangent, change the subject line
- accordingly), I have had no problems with the Zoom v.32bis Faxmodem. I
- think it's the same as the Infotel v.32bis Faxmodem (but a little higher
- priced) but since I have no direct experience with the Infotel, I won't
- comment on it.
-
- The Zoom v.32bis Faxmodem has v.32/v.42/v.32bis/Fax (at 9600 or 14.4k
- baud) and probably some other features I'm leaving out. It doesn't have
- caller-id or voice (whatever this stuff is). Since my area doesn't have
- caller-id, and I don't wanna get the service from the phone company that
- means nothing to me. Voice is also useless to me, so I wouldn't want to
- pay for it.
-
- Given the number of problems I've heard about the Supra and the relative
- high price of the ZyXEL model that is comprable to this Zoom, I think the
- Zoom is a good buy.
