- In this respect I find the Scout+ surprisingly user friendly. I have
- tested it on a Mac with three different terminal programs and most often
- just AT&F, the factory default register settings worked fine. This will
- enable hardware flowcontrol, which also needs to be clicked on in the
- Microphone II terminal program. The Mac-to-modem cable might be your
- biggest problem, since not all of them support hardware handshake
- correctly.
-
- Some useful commands for you, which are not mentioned in the manual, but
- some on the underside of the modem: ATI7. It prints out quite a few AT
- commands, sort of like an online help facility. ATSQ and AT*O are
- mentioned in there, both of which I use often, the former to monitor
- the line quality 6 times per second (7=highest, 0=lowest, ?=retrain),
- the latter to read the connection parameters, receive level and current
- register settings.

- Disclaimer: I sell Digicom products.
