- If you have an internal modem then it might be hard if not impossible
- to change the UART since rarely are they a socketed chip on internal
- modems but rather something implemented in firmware, in ASIC's or
- whatever. For an external you have a better chance. If it's socketed
- then pop it out and replace it. I don't know where you would get one
- but you could try JDR Microdevices. They're not cheap but tend to
- have all kinds of componentry in stock. Call 800 information for their
- number or check out a Byte or PC Mag.
