  13.   I'm running an application under Informix On-Line 4.0 under AIX 3.1 on
  14. an IBM-RS/6000.
  15.   The program works fine, but sometimes, without being a special condition, I get this error:

  17.   SQL error -211
  18.   Cannot read system catalog (systables)
  19.   SYSTEM error -101
  20.   File is not open.
  21.  
  22.   Once I got a similar error, (error -211) and instead of "can not read system catalogue" was "cannot read database.table".

  24.   Why is this happening. I read in another message about the possibility of
  25. this being a bug. Can anybody help me? Is there something that can be do changing the configuration of my On-Line System?
