- As well as the American National Standards mentioned above, there is a
- newer International Standard IRDS Service Interface which has recently
- been approved, though I believe that it has not yet completed its
- administrative processing. This document is IS 10728, and is based on
- relational technology.

- IRDS standards development is continuing, with technical work underway to
- add OO features to the relational IRDS defined in IS 10728. The U.S.
- IRDS standards commitee, of which I am a member, is actively involved in
- that.

- You might also be interested in the CDIF (CASE Data Interchange Format) work,
- which is defining standard Data Dictionary data models and file transfer
- formats.
