- Is there a technique that is used by Systems Analysts that could help
- me decide on the best searching procedure for a personal database system
- that I am developing? I am cr eating a database system to reference
- various newspaper, magazine and trade journal articles, and I am
- undecided between two methods. BTW, I am using DataEase for this
- project.
-
- The first method is to use Keywords to reference the articles. My
- definition of a keyword is a very short (one or two word description)
- of something, or the name of an itme (ie. company name, product name,
- etc).
-
- The other method is more complicated but would have abstracts (ranging
- from one or two lines for newspapers and magazines to 500 words for
- trade journals) that would be searched. The mechanics of the
- searching procedure has not yet been decided upon.
-
- Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.
