  12. We are considering installing a pair of Symplex Datamizer compressing
  13. TDMs, to optimise the use of an international leased line.  However, we
  14. would like to find out others' experiences first.  For those who don't
  15. know, the device is basically a TDM with a data compressor attatched to
  16. the aggregate channel.

  18. We would like to know of any good or bad experiences in the following
  19. areas:
  20.  
  21. 1) Reliability:  
  22.  
  23. 2) Throughput:  the local marketing people claim 4:1.  From experiences
  24.                 with modems, I would guess that 2:1 is a better bet in
  25.         the real world, but would like to hear what sorts of
  26.         throughput people actually get.
  27.  
  28. 3) Satelites:  we want to use these over a satelite link.  Does the
  29.                increased latency have any nasty side-effects?
  30.  
  31. The types of traffic that we plan to shove down the line include X.25,
  32. SL/IP or PPP and SNA (perhaps).

  34. If there are any other comments, or other products, I would appreciate
