- More on the multiline modification:
-
- Yes, the mod is too big for most people to contemplate. I don't think I'd agree
- that Wayne is the only one capable of making a major change to WWIV, as a lot of
- people can read and write c. Yes, there will be fixes, but my changes are rather
- uniform, and fixes should be minor. I've seen quite a number of fixes for the
- released versions of stock WWIV code. There are slight incompatibilties with the
- WWIV net software possible, and I am speaking to Wayne about changes to network2
- so it can operate concurrently with active nodes. Yes, most of the files have
- changes, but most of the files have dos file commands, and the bulk of the mod
- is rewriting all the file access of WWIV. I don't think adding multiple lines is
- simply being more like VBBS. It is offering an option for those sysops who do
- want to expand their BBS, as they otherwise have had to stop using WWIV.
-
- I know a mod for such a major change is a difficult method of getting multiple
- nodes in WWIV (for most sysops). I am perfectly willing to let wayne look at,
- copy, and use this code to make stock WWIV multiline (as long as he continues
- to release the code). I imagine this is the case for most people who release
- mods for WWIV.
