  19. I have created a set of Latex programs, collectively called geom,
  20. that work with Lamport's book and article styles and provide
  21. a number of additional features:
  22.  
  23. - Inclusion of PostScript figures in the document,
  24.   and of TeX text within figures.
  25. - Automatic creation of index entries and cross-reference labels.
  26. - No restriction on the use of macros and special characters in
  27.   titles, cross-references, captions, etc. (i.e. no need to worry
  28.   about fragile commands in almost all situations).
  29. - Greater versatility in defining theorem-like environments.
  30. - Proofing aids such as version numbers and a running index.
  31. - TeX labels in Mathematica figures.

  33. There are also purely esthetic differences,
  34. many of which can be controlled by the user.
