-
- The ZD lab (Trinity College) raved about the Digital Linear Tape,
- specifically the T860X by Cipher Data Products that sells for
- $6,550 and works on Suns, Vaxs, and Novell NetWare. They claim
- 6 GB per tape, backup rates of 26.7 MB/minute on the Sun, very
- fast selective restore rates, and very sturdy tapes.
-
- They were pretty pleased with Metrum Information Storage's VHS
- which they found to be fast (30.6 MB/minute on a Sun), reliable,
- and high capacity (14.5 GB uncompressed). The RSP-2150 costs
- $32,900.
-
- Has anyone tried DLT or VHS for heavy backup work??
