- A question on the use of counters in NB 3.1.
-
- I am preparing an essay for printing in PostScript Palatino. It will be
- about 20 pages long. I would like to use counters in section headers,
- so, along with the other style deltas, I have included DC 1=1.1.1.1.
- On screen all goes well. The first C1 produces 1. The first C2
- produces 1.1. The second C2 produces 1.2. etc. etc. The second C2
- produces 2. etc. BUT when I print a draft, the first C1 produces 2.
- From the second C2 (which also produces 2.) all is well. Here are my
- deltas (substituting << and >> for command brackets):
-
- <<PT121>><<RM65>><<PL58,60,54>><<TP4>><<AL1>><<TS4,8,12,16,24,32,48>>
- <<OF11,9>><<SSNX,AL=1,PT=121>><<SSIX,IP=4,0,AL=1,LL=0.5>><<SSSX,LL=0.5>>
- <<SSBX,IP=4,4,AL=1,PT=111>><<SSHX0,PT=141,FC,MD BO>><<SSHX1,FC,MD BR>>
- <<SSHX2,FC,MD RV>><<SSHX3,FC>><<SSHX4,MD RV,IP=4>>
- <<SSHX,IP=4,0,AL=1,LL=0.5>><<FS1<<IP>>____________________>>
- <<FM1SC=0,IP=4,0,PT=101,AL=1,TS=4,8,RM=65,FT=1,BF=1>><<SF1>><<DC1=1.1.1.1.>>
-
- This is a modification of the generic style. Does anyone see what, if
- anything is causing the C1 to begin with 2 when printing and not on screen?
- Am I overlooking something incredibly simple?
-
- P.S. If anyone wants to copy this style for PostScript, feel free. It sets
- up a nice looking page.
