  13.         I too have discovered a series of bugs. I think I have a "final copy".
  14. As a beta tester I begged them for a a copy sent overnight UPS back in mid
  15. August. My copy is dated 8/13. Let's list these little devils to get them
  16. expunged: (I'd rather squash bugs right now than NBI)
  17. I have Lingua (which I use mostly) on a 486. Here are my top bugs:
  18. 1. Yesterday I tried to save a large file to disk; there was insufficient space
  19. on the disk (I forget about those .bak files!). The error message was WRITE
  20. ERROR. I then erased some files and then saved successfully. All day I worked,
  21. saved, and backed up. At the last minute I realized I had lost about ten pages
  22. from the end of the document. That truncated document was copied into all my
  23. saves.  Apparently that bad save attempt caused me to lose my RAM drive
  24. overflow and thus part of my file. That should never happen. What's wrong with
  25. the simple DOS error BEFORE you attempt to save: INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE.

  27. 2. When you try to bold a word that has "constructed characters in it" (e.g. S
  28. with a dot under it) using control shift 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 etc., it will stop at
  29. the constructed letter and not act on the entire word. For that you have to
  30. block of the word with F2 and then cntrl #.

  32. 3. The dictionary (speller) cannot deal with smart quotes (control ").

  34. 4. Sometimes (I haven't figured out the pattern) when you do a letter F6 and
  35. the W, D, B or whatever to construct a letter, I also get an extra letter
  36. afterwards.

  38. 5. I still get an occasional US.1 delta and CR when I try to open up a
  39. footnote with F3. This was a regular bug before, but now it only happens once
  40. in 50 notes. (You can go into expanded mode and delete this garbage).

  42. 6. There are problems in my version with the printer driver for HP softfonts.
  43. The program calls up the wrong .ovl file; but I think they corrected this
  44. before shipping.
