- What we do is to give each user an account. He uses his last name and the first
- initial of his first name. This is typed after the "user name" prompt. The
- computer will only recognize the names of the patrons having accounts. The next
- prompt to appear on the screen is "password". Each user makes his own passwo
- rd consisting of eight or more characters, e.g., "elephant". Every three mon
- ths
- computer sends a notice for each user to change his password. The command is
- "set password" and then the computer asks for verification to prevent any
- typographical errors. It appears to work perfectly. We also have a general
- account which anyone can access without a password, but it is limited in what it
- can access.
