- I can't comment on Banyan specifically, but we found that the PC
- client tries to write to the Rez and Log files regardless of
- whether the disk it loaded from is mounted for writes. So from
- a file server, where it loads from a read-only disk, the app dies.
- One solution was to have our menuing software make a local copy
- of Gopher to load from the local PC's hard disk. Later, a programmer
- here at MSU hacked the client to open the files for read only. If
- that hasn't been posted to the net we'll ask him to do so.

- problems....
