  12. Jed Rothwell sent me a copy of the Brigsten-Mallove Fusion Technology Paper.
  13. They have obviously been given the word, as the abstract recently posted has 
  14. been cleaned up from the version I have.  My version reads like an MIT press
  15. release.

  17. There is not much content in the paper.  But one thing is amazing.  They 
  18. claim that we don't see the 3He and 4He products is that they come off at 
  19. "ranging up to 5.59 Gev" very high energy.  That's 5590000000 ev folks!

  21. The claim is that the heat seen is due to the relatively small interaction
  22. rate as they leave the cell.  Hmmm!  I am glad that I am only seeint a few
  23. mw.  With watts, I would worry about the stability of the concrete in the 
  24. basement walls.

  26. My problem with this is what does the alpha particle push on to leave at 
  27. 5.59 Gev?  I always had the same problem with Superman.  Why didn't he 
  28. just punch a hole in the sidewalk when he tried to leap a tall building?

  30. Is it possible that Brigsten-Mallove don't know that if something goes east
  31. something else has to go west??  Am I being asked to believe in particles 
  32. that just come out of the blue with momentum?  It is just too much for a 
  33. poor engineer to contemplate.  I will therefor leave it to you QM guys to
  34. sort out.
