- In almost every study I know of, this is simply a correlation. How many people
- do you know of that want to get married to someone with a "mental" problem?
- (co-dependents and masochists excluded :) )

- Same issue as above (though there is slightly better research in psychoneuro-
- immunology suggesting an effect of social support in humans and controlled
- studies of changes in "social environment" [e.g., housing status, gender-housed
- status, etc.] in animals (though interpreting any of this as being "lonely" is
- beyond my view)
