- I observed the Perseids from my home about 35 miles from St. Louis.
- Between 4:00 and 4:45 a.m. on August 11, I counted 18 Perseids and
- 3 sporadics. The limiting magnitude was 6.1 at the zenith, but the
- horizon was hazy enough to almost completely hide the Big Dipper.
- The average magnitude of the Perseids I saw was about 2.6. Ten of the
- Perseids left persistent trains.
-
- Unfortunately, we had storms move through last night and this
- morning (August 11/12). No observations were possible.
