  12. I observed the Perseids from my home about 35 miles from St. Louis.
  13. Between 4:00 and 4:45 a.m. on August 11, I counted 18 Perseids and
  14. 3 sporadics. The limiting magnitude was 6.1 at the zenith, but the
  15. horizon was hazy enough to almost completely hide the Big Dipper.
  16. The average magnitude of the Perseids I saw was about 2.6. Ten of the
  17. Perseids left persistent trains.

  19. Unfortunately, we had storms move through last night and this
  20. morning (August 11/12). No observations were possible.
