- My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. Also, if this is
- answered in a FAQ file, please point me to it.
-
- Can anyone offer advice on home treadmills? We are looking for a unit
- that will be used by two of us, both under 160 lbs, that is quiet but which
- also is fast enough and solid enough to allow running.
-
- So far we have been most impressed with the Precor (stable, quiet, easy to
- adjust, powerful motor that does not bog down).
-
- - Is this really a good unit (does it last? maintenance? etc.)?
-
- - Is it overpriced or overrated? For example, a unit with fingertip speed
- and elevation adjust, and very simple up/down programming of speed, was
- around $2,500.
-
- We do not need a ton of bells and whistles, but do want quality. The
- things we saw at Sears, while much less expensive, did not look like
- they would hold up, and seemed noisier and less stable/smooth. We are also
- under the impression they may need more continual attention to adjustments.
-
- Thanks for any advice on brands or prices or anything else!
