- Hi there
- If it needs to be out 6 (SIX!) turns to peak there is definitely something
- wrong! Most OS engines run well between 1 1/4 to 2 turns. My 46SF and an
- old 60 blackhead run on pipe at 1 1/2 to 1 5/8 out. It should go from fine
- 2 stroke (ie a clean smooth high pitch note) to slobbering rich 4 stroke
- (ie somewhat uneven much lower pitch note) within 1/2 turn out. It it will
- still run at 6 turns out, there is something other than the needle controlling
- the fuel supply. try removing the needle, and blow through the pressure line
- - you should get a flood of fuel out the needle hole. if ok, remove the needle
- threaded adaptor and inspect for rubbish under it. also check that if you remove
- the idle needle from the other side, the jet tube is clear right through. you
- would be surprised at the rubbish i have seen here - bits of silicon, hair, lint
- etc! You should not have to blow very hard to push fuel through the tubing
- from the tank - if you do, investigate. also check that the O ring on the needle
- is in good condition - no nicks, cuts etc to leak air.
