- The main problem is Chevy didn't machine the gasket surface, like
- practically everyone else in the world. They expected the wimpy narrow
- little gasket to seal against the rough casting. Brrp. Wrong. Also,
- V8s tend to pump enough oil to the top end for the gasket line to
- be below the oil level once they've built up a good layer of crud
- blocking the oil return drilling at the back of the head.
