  12. O.K. Here is one that has my mechanic dumbfounded.

  14. Every year (for the last three years) my six year warrenteed battery goes
  15. bad.  The brand name is Atlas and is sold at Chevron dealers.  Each year
  16. I get it replaced, and the new one goes bad by the next year.

  18. They tested the charging system on the BEAR computer and it said that the
  19. alternator is bad.  They then tested the battery and it said the battery
  20. is bad.  Upon replacing the battery with a fresh one the machine said that
  21. the alternator is GOOD. The rest of the charging system checks out.  The
  22. drain on the battery when the motor is off is negligible.

  24. As long as the battery is good, everything else is good.  When the battery
  25. is bad, the charging system reads bad.
