  11. I've found that a medium sized pair of Vice-Grip pliers work very well in 
  12. compressing the piston.  I have a pair with very wide jaws (not the regular
  13. pliers jaws).  They look vaguely like the illustration below:

  20. I know that that's a pretty poor excuse for vice-grips but I hope you get the 
  21. idea.  Like the person in the previous note mentioned, be careful not to 
  22. compress the piston too far or you'll ruin the seals.
