- My understanding is that DOT4 is superior to DOT3 in all ways. The reason your
- '89 says dot3 only may be because there used to be stuff worse than that sold.

- Most cars that I've seen now say DOT4 only. Castrol GTX is what I use, and
- what my dealer reccomends, BTW.
