  18. What *else* is wrong with the car besides the CV joint?  At most, you'll have
  19. to replace the driveshaft (I seem to remember that Subaru has this nasty habit
  20. of welding CV joints to the driveshaft).  That's probably less than $300 if
  21. you're willing to do the work yourself.

  23. Of course, if you're going to buy a new car anyway (if you don't already have
  24. one), then it might be a moot point.  Even in that case, though, you should
  25. be able to make a profit off the thing if you fix the CV joint and sell the
  26. thing for $1000 or more.
